Value America (VUSA: news, msgs) traded 1
11/16, or 33 percent richer, at 6 3/4 over Island,
after the company matched analysts' projections
and predicted it will turn a profit this year. The
online technology superstore said late Wednesday
that it lost $1.02 per share for the fourth quarter of
1999, in line with the First Call consensus estimate.
In the same quarter a year earlier, Value America
lost $1.26 per share. Value America said it expects
to increase revenue by 60 to 70 percent in 2000.
For comparison, the online retailer saw its sales
