Thanks Jill for your feedback on the CC strategy. Look forward to your report, I might try it first in my tax sheltered account for some QCOM shares, however I am waiting for another run into the 140s for QCOM and then write the calls. David EDIT: There are problems with SI and it has posted three times, and I can not edit the other ones.

not sure ... would matter too much to some of the posters Well it matters to this poster. Thanks for the obvious effort that went into your response. I believe I now understand the "big picture" of the strategy. My problem (and I suspect yours) was I came to the "classroom" with a lot of "baggage" (previous knowledge re. options) and this approach is inconsistent with those ingrained preconceptions at a fundamental level - i.e. what's the goal. It's one thing to understand the "big picture and another to understand the nuances. Believing that one can't learn while one is espousing (talking or typing), I'll return to my "lurq and learn" mode. But first let me thank you again. lurking... lurqer

Jill, I havve a hard time grasping this strategy, try as I might. I don't understand the downside risk fully - could you explain it to me? Also, how do you calculate the premium for writing a call? Sorry to ask such basic questions but I just don't seem to get it. Thanks, Anna

Jill, The P&F chart for JDSU looks very healthy and it looks to be on a healthy pullback from the recent highs. Sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner. JXM
