I received a note in the mail from Schwab that EB will be the guest speaker on their CEO Speaker Series. The date is April 18, at 4:00 PM. The summary states "find out how Mr. Benhamou is positioning 3Com to deliver the next wave of connectivity by creating networks, devices, and services that let people access their world in ways others have not yet imagined." This Schwab series allows Signature Services clients to interact by e-mailing live questions. Any suggestions?

Sawtooth:

If the last part of the WSJ article is any guide, then EB has been/is cooking acquisitions using his PALM stock as currency. I can't see how he could ever expect to get shareholder approval - even from the funds with big holdings - to do this, since issuing more COMS stock for acquisitions would dilute the value of COMS PALM holdings. Plus it would seem to invite another huge round of shareholder lawsuits. You'd think that prospect alone would put EB off, because it took over two years to settle the shareholder class action lawsuits that the USRX buy-out spawned.

But it seems as if the market is now even more suspicious than before that COMS shareholders may not get their anticipated 1.5 PALM per COMS, because we have PALM up 6 with COMS standing still at a less than 1:1 ratio. I sure thought we'd settled in at least at 1.1:1.

Think I'll still hang on to my small remaining pieces of COMS until earnings and EB kill us and then maybe PALM's quiet period ending revives us again.
