Do you ever do any investing yourself - or merely carp at the efforts of others?

> Sounds like a wonderful strategy. Capped upside with your covered calls

Works fine in a market that has been trading sideways without much of an upside to cap, just premiums to pocket.

> What kind of premium did you get on the 17.5 calls

You would have to properly read the original post and ask the right person, I did not sell any 17.5 calls.

> You should take a look at the telecoms and the fibre optic hardware companies

Some of the mining companies turning into Internet companies have provided a little excitement.
I am working on a list and would always welcome additions:

P.S. I just do this gold stuff as a hobby with my play money. I invest in a lot of things I don't talk about.
As for telecom/optic, I successfully worked in that industry until 1989, when I retired at age 32.
