Not necessarily. Say the killer caught up with her on the spot, grabbed her by the hair, pulled back her head, slit her throat, and the threw her to the ground. At which point he went nuts and started stabbing her all over the head and neck. Why?

Even so, as you say, if when he slit her throat there should, I think, have been an enormous arterial spurt of blood.

A question not answered. WHERE did all the blood go?
