ars God-Box update:
ars-technica.com

Here's what it starts with:

Motherboard: A-Trend ATC6280

Dual processors, 6/0/1 expansion configuration, 3 DIMM slots. The worst part about this board is that I only found one place that sells it. It's counterpart is the Freeway FW-6280BXDR. Our friends over at Freak! reviewed this board and were just floored by it. They were able to get the board to boot and run stable at a 126MHz bus which means we can get our overclock on.
Price: $220 (3/7/2000)

Processor: 2 Pentium III 600MHz SMP
So why not the Coppermine? At this point, the Intel Coppermine CPUs are only fully supported on the i820, i840 or VIA motherboards. With these boards you have the choice of RDRAM (ungodly expensive) or SDRAM (cheap, but with lousy performance). With Q3A supporting SMP now, Windows 2000 available, and Linux at your doorstep, there's no reason to hesitate with SMP, right?
Some of you will say, "Why not the Athlon?" Well, it's simple: SMP is damn sweet to have. A Linux, NT, or BeOS system with two PIIIs is gonna rock an Athlon system to 1974 and back. Call us back when we can take that mutha to SMP.

Price: $600 [$300 for one] (3/7/2000)
