Is AAPL holding MOT's toes to the G4/Transmeta fire ?

MeThimks both AAPL and IBM want faster G3s now.

As Doren notes , a rumor site hints AAPL may be testing TM's new CPU in a PowerBook.

Just coincidental that IBM makes the TM chip, and IBM is also rumored to be constrained by MOT on providing its faster G3s to AAPL.

MOT may be legitimately concerned as buying IBM's part of Sommerset could be like acquiring a expensive junkyard if IBM's G3s flatten MOT's G4s.

" Apple will probably jump to Transmeta or similar for their new line of handhelds/pads to keep PPC emulation going and running on that power-conscious, portable design area.

A interesting possibility Fruju but unless SJ has had a change of heart PowerPCs are his chip (maybe IBM's new 405) of choice.

Also interesting is that IBM is marketing a 10" color CRT with a keyboard for internet access - (EDIT) currently using INTC but TM would seem a possibility .

But maybe IBM's 10" color CRT will eventually prove more interesting if IBM OEMs it.
