It is painful to watch NVDA this morning since I closed my position two days ago. I do not expect AMD to move on the Xbox announcement. Every Xbox article out so far has already claimed that it will use the Athlon, so Friday's announcement will not come as a positive surprise. Also, the NVDA float is one tenth that of AMD. NVDA can move big on little pressure. The biggest benfit to AMD from Xbox will be compiler, OS, and DirectX optimizations for Athlon from Microsoft. I think AMD will be selling Xbox Athlons for little more than cost. It will be interesting to see if AMD wins a deal to fab the Nvidia chip that goes into the Xbox. It may need copper to keep the heat down.
