I-Flow Corporation Receives Permission to Market
5-Inch Pain Management Soaker Catheter

LAKE FOREST, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2000--I-Flow Corporation (Nasdaq:IFLO - news) announced
today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted the Company permission to market its new 5-inch
Soaker(TM) Catheter for pain management of large surgical incisions.

``I-Flow's 5-inch Soaker Catheter, in contrast to the 2 1/2-inch version for smaller surgical incisions, provides a continuous
infusion of a non-narcotic, local anesthetic directly across long incisions for post operative pain management for such surgeries
as hysterectomies, C-sections and open-heart procedures,' said Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Donald M.
Earhart. ``This new Soaker Catheter, which distributes fluid in a similar manner to the way a soaker hose saturates a lawn, is
expected to be distributed by I-Flow and its surgical partners,' he said.

The CEO explained that the Soaker Catheter, which attaches to I-Flow's ON-Q(TM) and PainBuster(TM) pain management
systems, is enclosed in the wound site at the completion of the surgery and is removed two to five days later. Earhart said,
``With the Soaker Catheter we believe that there is the potential for better pain management of surgical procedures requiring
large incisions without the undesirable side effects of narcotic pain relievers. In addition to its pain management benefits, we are
exploring other therapeutic applications for this infusion technology.'

Noting that I-Flow's 2 1/2-inch Soaker Catheter was cleared by the FDA in November 1999, Earhart said that the 5-inch
version reflects the continuing evolution of I-Flow's product lines. ``This new catheter is an important addition to our pain
management product family, which includes the PainBuster, ON-Q, Nerve Block(TM) Infusion Kit and Paragon(TM)
products. The Soaker Catheter technology is a significant advancement in wound site therapeutics and is an excellent platform
for I-Flow's future pain management product innovations for the more than 39 million annual surgical procedures in the United
States,' he explained.
