Gary,
I have used both NT4, Win98 and W2000. Win2000 is by far and away the most stable environement MSFT
has delivered.

This sentence reinforces what couple of earlier posters highligted "this time we won't miss", "W2K is more stable than W98". No wonder it is stable from reboot every hour to every day to a few weeks. What kind of applications are you running? Don't tell me running IE and checking emails and prepare a few view graphs. It took how many years to achieve this?
Wellcome to the real business world.
How much software development and testing experience you have?

Thank god!
Nobody disputes this. Do you think this is a great achievement?

Regarding MSFT business strategy. Yes it is to start with a vapourware, copy/steal others idea, extend it, produce buggy stuff and then make umpteen releases with incremental bug fixes and features, create FUD if there is competition, and bring a somewhat stable product.

I defined what is vapourware in my earlier posts (Announcing something in advance and not meeting the deadine.)
and if you don't agree with that definition
there is no point in this conversation.

Yes MSFT has made several reincarnations to finally agree to
what PALM started with. Make it simple and minimal. Finally those MSFT fat heads realized what they are doing is not what people want.
No wonder still they are trying to put a spread sheet, word,
and whole lot of stuff. They don't have OS monopoly on this platform and we will see how their business acumen will translate into market share. Don't worry, they have handful of powerful enemies to begin with and the world is well
aware of their slimmy tactics. Palm days are not DOS days.
Time will be the answer.
