>Qualcomm said yesterday it will work with Eastman Kodak Co. to test technology that delivers digital motion pictures via satellite. The partnership with the world's leading manufacturer of conventional film gives Qualcomm an ally instead of an enemy in the quest to replace celluloid. Kodak will test Qualcomm's compression, encryption and watermarking techniques, which will be incorporated into Kodak's prototype digital projection system. "The Kodak digital cinema test bed will serve as a proving ground for the future migration of print film to digital media and electronic display," Kim Haile, senior vice president and general manager of Qualcomm Digital Media, said in a prepared statement.
