DON'T use WebStreet! Try Brown&Co. eom

NASDAQ above 5,000 again. Perfect setup for a crash this earnings season.

JI:

I use the following three free sites for real-time quotes:

foxmarketwire.com
quotes.freerealtime.com
tscn.com

The last one is good because it shows the last 10 trades, also.

If you'd consider using another broker, try AB Watley. I put a token amount into an account with them so I could get their free Level II service. Also, you get your trades executed in seconds (literally). There's also a nice charting feature which has helped me identify key support and resistance levels, candlesticking patterns, etc.

Best regards,

Mike

P.S. I use Waterhouse, too, so I feel your pain.

Switch to Brown & Co. When I call I rarely have to
wait for more than a minute, even in the busiest times.
Of course it can happen, but rarely do I need to wait
for long. That said, there will be days..........

When the spread is tight I place market orders, and they
are almost always filled within 20 seconds - while I am
still on the phone and at the price I expect. They do
get the best price when they can. I have gotten market
orders filled at 1/16 or 1/8 under the quoted ask on some
trades, so I think they do a good job for their customers.

Most importantly for me, they have never messed up my
account and they really seem to be professional.

best solution I found for quotes was to open a $2000 IRA account with Datek. I get a free "streamer" of 20 quotes at a time, real time, B & A, etc.
Today I watched my 1000 share RRC buy on the streamer after I placed the order with my real broker, a great northwest broker called Freeman Welwood, $14.95 per internet trade, but great fills.
I haven't traded Datek much, because I'm so happy with Freeman, but the Datek real time quotes are excellant.
