Ram: what is with this weekly news? AXCESS Announces Universal Network Connector for Video Cameras Low Cost LANconnect Enables Enterprise-Wide Network Video DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2000--AXCESS Inc. (Nasdaq:AXSI - news) announced today a product that makes it easy to connect standard video cameras to the corporate LAN network or the Internet. The product called LANconnect(TM) enables existing corporate video cameras such as those used for security and operations purposes to be fully switched throughout the enterprise, allowing for low cost transmission between facilities and wider distribution within. Combined with the company's digital video network camera and network recorder, all corporate video requirements for transmission and recording can now be supported over a single enterprise-wide network using AXCESS' Prism Video family of products. The company's patented digital video compression efficiently utilizes network bandwidth and improves video performance. This compression prevents impacts to other network applications and allows more cameras to be placed on the network. The embedded RS232 control channel enables camera control functions such as pan, tilt, and zoom to be fully functional from the viewing software. It includes added security functions such as passwording, alarm dial-out, and output control of light, gate, and door switches. The LANconnect(TM) provides simultaneous analog and digital output so existing video system functions can remain unchanged and the migration of video to the network can progress as warranted. ``Having a low cost, bandwidth efficient universal connection to the network provides an immediate benefit for the user. Virtually all the cameras now on the market can be network enabled, including high performance, pan/tilt/zooms, and even matrix switches. This is an important element in our strategy to deliver a comprehensive video solution over the network straight to the desktop,' commented Allan Griebenow, president & ceo of AXCESS Inc. The system will be introduced at next week's ISC (International Security Conference) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company will be exhibiting (booth No. 669) at the Las Vegas Convention Center, March 14th-16th. In addition to the Prism Video line of products, AXCESS' ActiveTag(TM) RFID products provide automatic identification solutions to the corporation for improving asset utilization enterprise-wide.
