Dear JCJ: The chuckle I had while reading Steve's posting turned into laughter when I read your reply. A debate over who is dumber? I honestly do not think there is enough time before the election for either man to prepare for that one! If either Bush or Gore is, by some miracle, able to adequately prepare, the other can make a public announcement saying he has to withdraw from the debate because he is mentally challenged--then use this to gain votes on election day. Dear JC, Charles, Lynn and all: I was not going to post again on this subject as I can hear people now hollering TAKE IT ELSEWHERE but I MUST.haha. Anyone remember Reagan? I remember all the dumb jokes, actor and all. Guess what, he did OK. I wont get into all the things he accomplished as if you agree with me you know what they are and if you dont agree you wont accept what I say anyhow. So, for purpose of arguement lets just accept he did OK. Now, what was it that made him DO OK? IMHO it was CHARACTER. I think Character and morals are important. You can AND SHOULD HIRE brains and talent. No one no matter how smart they are knows it all. But Character in the President or lack thereof, cannot be bought at any price. If someone can show me that Bush lacks Character then perhaps I wont vote at all (I am never going to vote for Gore no matter what as he stands for everything I detest in politics). Bush comes from a long line of people in his family with Character, I have watched from afar how he has done in Texas and honest to God, Charles is the first Texan that I have heard say anything against him. We have his brother in Fla. and from early indications he is trying to do the right thing for the state. JDN
