I agree with the last poster that the selloff was triggered by the Merrill Lynch comments. I believe they had an accumulate rating on JDSU for a long time.
He sure missed the boat on JDSU and for that reason I don't see him as the most reliable in this sector. Nobody wants to proved wrong.

Notice the old internet stocks started moving up along with big cap techs and drugs. Once they make a few points with them, look for some selloffs in the Dow and S and P as money starts chasing the biotechs and fibre optics stocks again. I see the internets coming down again. I don't think they can make a serious move until the fall. New investors just are not patient with slow moving stocks and that is why money keeps flowing out of them. They just park money in them to get over periods of uncertainty. I think it is happening with mutual funds and individuals who made huge gains in optical and biotech stocks. They want to see that if the stock holds up before getting back in. Buying at higher levels is OK with them as long as they see a positive trend.

The Goldman Sachs sale was completed around Feb 15 according to the release and should not be affecting the stock price now. Again, it is ML.
