I thought the reason for the large drop in the futures the other day was the unexpected increase in oil and gasoline stockpiles recorded back in Feb 3, according to API and EIA figures. The media has been attributing the move to OPEC and getting the two news items mixed up. I don't know about the oil futures chart but isn't it likely it needed to go back and retest the $ 30 breakout area.
