Clinton Administration Seeking Special Privilege Agreement for China The Clinton administration is asking Congress to ratify a secret agreement for "Normal Trade Relations" with China, but refuses to share the contents of the proposed agreement with the news media or the public. Here is what the US Reform Party had to say about this. WHEREAS, the Clinton administration is asking Congress to ratify a secret agreement for Normal Trade Relations with China, and refuses to share the contents of their proposed agreement with the citizens of the United States; and WHEREAS, citizens will have no opportunity to review the agreement, debate the issues and confer with their elected representatives on those issues; therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Reform Party urge the President not to submit legislation during this session to grant Permanent Normal Trade Relations to China; and RESOLVED, that the Reform Party urges Congress to reject such legislation, if submitted; and be it further RESOLVED, the Reform Party commits to lead the fight to defeat such legislation if it is considered.
