BGR,

>>What level of Govt. control do you find appropriate?<<

I'm not sure. I'm evolving. (ng)

At various times in my life I've thought different things based on my experiences up to that point. (including reading)

I believe in some sort of safety net for the poor, but would prefer that it was done privately. I think the political process can be more abusive and wasteful. My guess is that we need some government though.

As you know I like hard money so I'm no big fan of our current monetary system.

I'm a huge fan of free markets but the 90s has taught me that free markets have a weakness. Many people are so greedy, corrupt and out and out dispicable that the abuses and pillage can become extreme. But I have no solution, because those same people essentially buy (influence) the government and make their own rules.

I'd rather not discuss politics too much because it is likely we'd not agree on much and waste both our times.

I admit that I am still learning and forming my views even at this age (41).

I am only certain that I don't like central banking, the IMF, etc... There is huge abuse and potential for extraordinary excess.
