Hi Mike,

I think the thread overall feels your jokes are funny or at the very least very witty, with one big exception! Must be a case of humor envy, not to be confused with that other envy.<gg>

I assume everyone interested in Siebel has seen the press release about their new customer. I am very impressed of late with the names of their customers: IBM last month, AMS this week and now, British Telecom today.

Mike, as far as the meeting in San Diego goes you're right about inviting everyone next time...but remember, there are people who will go to a party just because it exists...they are Visionaries.

The Pragmatists will go to the next party because they now know that the party is valuable; standards have been set (pouring wine from an unopened bottle) and systems have been thoroughly shaken out (Lindy's rear on the dance floor). This second group makes or breaks the future of subsequent parties.

A third group, the Conservatives, might show up at the third party but they won't really want to be there unless they can cut a better deal on the hotel and airfare because they've talked to everyone who went to the first two parties and have found all the shortcuts. By the time these folks attend a party the success of the party will have been established and any changes that might be made in the frivolities, whether scene or actors, will result less in future fun at subsequent parties than in the fun they expect to have at this party!

Then there are the Skeptics...these folks should just stay home and read all about it on the thread, which they will.

I know all that was a stretch but I just had to find a way to say how much fun it was to be there and to meet everyone. In case anyone didn't know...I didn't bring that pink feather boa...it was a gift from a very highly placed individual who shall remain anonymous. I only wore it all over the place every minute to be respectful <g>

I especially like the lurkers because not one of them has ever posted that my jokes aren't funny. :)

Mike,

The lurkers are just more polite than we are. :-)
