MA,
There is one more date to consider regarding this outrageuos price disparity of PALM and 3COM.
PALM options will start trading on 16th. If this disparity persists, one can induce artificial short of PALM and long of COMS using options.

As per my broker, hedge funds can short any stocks in the open market without registering, which we ordinary investors cannot. In this case they can make a large killing for nearly 30 days
from the date of IPO. But that duration in this case is shortened if PALM options are available on 16th.

Based on my observations of 3COM, an understanding based on years of interacting with others in high stress circumstances, I have concluded that your statements are the most accurate. I concur with your projections.

Moreover, your comments about Benhamou are also on the mark. Come on people, non-DD conclusions, personal attacks and panic drag down the quality of this board.

What is the difference between the palm spin off from coms and when cnxt spun off from rok and conoco spun off from dupont?
The later case was TAX-FREE. Why are people so afraid of the tax consequence?

Thanks,
