Dear JCJ: Thanks for pointing me to the candidate running on the "love" platform. I'm not sure if he is serious, if it is a joke--or if it is really a singles ad--but I did get a few laughs:

1. Looking at his picture, casual Fridays will be a thing of the past. Should he win via a write in vote, it will be casual everyday. This is the first time I have _ever_ seen the picture of someone wanting to run for any office wearing a sweatshirt for his formal campaign photo.

2. His campaign position on "love:"

"Everybody needs love and few of us
experience it daily, if ever.
Love is not something to possess and control
because nobody can do that.
Love is something precious and priceless that
is given without conditions or expectations of
return.
Love is like the sun shining upon the earth.
Without this loving light the earth would be a
dark cold place like many of our hearts.
We humans place love in the top category of
our needs yet they are rarely met.
We spend billions trying to impress others to
love us and we still don't get any.
It is important to love ourselves and God and
yet this is difficult for most of us, especially
forgiving ourselves for our mistakes or life's
learning lessons.

Did you get some today?

I believe if we give love freely we will receive
love in return. Good Luck or get a Bichon
Frisee! "
[end of position]

"Did you get some today?" WHAAAAT?!?! I can't wait to see on CNN what he hands out in lieu of campaign buttons and bumper stickers! Better yet, if the newscasters can keep straight faces.

The guy has a sense of humor _but_ if he is also using this campaign to meet a woman... Ah, I think he has a better chance of being elected our next president.

Regards,

Lynn
