Doren, the problem with the 840 board is in the MTH. Intel added a translator so that you could use it with SDRAM rather than RDRAM. The problem lies in using the board with SDRAM - if you use it with RDRAM there is no problem.

RDRAM is not presently targeted at servers. It's presently for high end PCs and workstations. Rich

Interesting to note that servers will use DDR. I've sort of glossed over the facts but I believe the i820 and i840 chipsets are plagued with problems, and it was my understanding that Rambus memory is part of the problem

There are so many problems with Rambus that the stock is up over 50 again today. Bet you wish you owned some of that "problem" company! :-)
