HUH? You mean to tell me SUN, LOTUS, NSCP, AAPL didn't have large market caps and weren't formidable competitors??? PALM - a premier league? I'm sorry but I can't even put PALM in the same league with the aforementioned companies of which MSFT took two to task pretty easily. W2K is targeted at SUN and the upcoming update to Exchange will target LOTUS and Unified Messaging. Did you note yesterday discussion of Microsoft in the gaming space - going after Sony and Nintendo.... with a better product. No, Microsoft will not emulate PALM... they will change the rules and PALM will be a forgotten commodity in less than 3 years. The stock will trade at <$10. Perhaps it's hard to believe but I for one never underestimate a company the size of MSFT with the resources they have. Underestimating your competition is the first path to failure.
