Rocket Scientist...

I reviewed the conference call ..... and it was my read that Mr. Schwartz pointed to the fact that Loral could carry the Globalstar ball with ZERO revenues straight through the year 2001 .... assuming the current financing strategy remains intact. Listen for yourself if the call is still available for playback. I'm sure you will draw the same conclusion.

I too am baffled at the 400 dollar handset proposal. It was clear that Mr. Schwartz said the phones would drop by 400 dollars per unit PLUS there are talks of incentive programs such as 25% off your monthly bill for the first 6 months of usage when a subscriber signs a contract for a predetermined amount of time. (one year I believe was what was hinted at.)

The price action on this stock is truly depressing/mindboggling .... but I can't help but feel that the 45 million shares coming out from LMT has a big hand in this.

I'm still waiting to hear news of Globalstar's plans to infiltrate the automotive industry. It seems to me that Globalstar has the potential to reign supreme in the arena that is now served by the likes of ONSTAR.

Fixed phones are going to be a major catalyst in this drama as it unfolds. We are going to have to wait until the third to forth quarter to see the fireworks from fixed sites .... but my bet is that it's worth waiting for.

God only knows where we're going to be a year from now .... but in my mind's eye .... the Loral/Globalstar story is more compelling than ever and now is not the time to hang your head in doubt .... but stand tall in anticipation of great things to come.

I continue to read the constant negative posts regarding the character of Bernard Schwartz. I feel it necessary to offer a kind word in his defense. Mr. Schwartz built LORAL into what it is today. I cannot imagine a person more qualified to be leading the company now than he. Without Bernard .... we wouldn't be on this message board today. Mr. Schwartz has actually opened a door into the Chinese Telecommunications market. Why is it that few speak of this impressive feat? Watch for upcoming developments regarding LORAL and China Telecom. The show's just beginning.
All in my opinion .....
