Dan, In Texas, most towns have strong local governments that have a lot of sway. I don't live in the city limits of Houston but, am affected by the mayor and city council anyway, and Houston has a lousy city government. All kinds of "brother-in-law" appointments, many along racial lines, and an agenda of building sports arenas, and having big celebrations instead of addressing the basic needs of the city. This is happening all too often in big cities all over the country.

DC does have an impact on our lives but, more so by the congress than by the president. We can survive a weak president if we have a strong congress but, the current liberal hold on key positions still scares me. We gotta do a lot of praying.
