Elmer,

"Cripple Intel"

The only way to compete in the x86 business is to have a processor which runs faster than Intel's. If a company succeeds at doing that, it will make lots of money.

Your view of AMD is a little bit paranoid?

So Elmer, what should AMD have done, have abandoned the x86 market to Intel? It's all ancient history. You're talking about events that occurred when the NASDAQ was below 500. That's not why I own AMD. There are plenty of other speciality chip companies I could and have owned, but today I want the one company that has the most to gain if it out executes Intel, and despite today's news, that company for the last 8 months has been AMD.

If the x-box is such a great victory for Intel, why has Intel barely moved on the news? I admit it's a loss for AMD, but ultimately it's all a side show to the greater battle being waged between AMD and Intel. Moreover, now that MSFT has become a hardware company, don't think that Gateway, Compaq, HP, AOL & Sun have not taken notice. I would not be surprised if we start hearing rumors of deals in the works between these companies and the gaming community with AMD in the mix.
