His father? His ethics advisor? Pat Robertson? Are any of these inaccurately described? They are his homies. Their closeness to W hardly precludes his being otherwise compromised.

They are one and the same. When the Republicans accepted the theocratic ideal of the religious right they marginalized themselves. Ralph Munro, Republican Secretary of State (WA) recently discussed this phenomenon (as did McCain).

When they look for support from constituencies that support bigotry (like Bob Jones University), or when they embrace symbols of bigotry and slavery (like flying the Confederate flag [is this the party of Lincoln?]) what other conclusion could one draw?

The Republican Party has further demonstrated this tilt by politicizing such issues as prayer in the schools and abortion rights.

For these reasons I have not voted for a single Republican in over fifteen years.
