Elmer, Scumbria,

I don't think that AMD can be faulted to much for their strategy of going head to head with Intel. They had little other choice. It was always a matter of cripple or be crippled. It's not like Intel is a benign competitor or would just peacefully allow AMD to co-exist. I specifically remember reading comments by Craig recently (I think it may have been the business week article) in which he compared Intel to a poisonous bush that drips poison from it's branches so as to kill off any competitive plants that get too close. In light of those kinds of attitudes what other choice did AMD have? AMD had to fight or die.

Regards,

Epinephrine
