Dear Qwik: That's not an apocryphal story! Although I have not seen it crop up on any of the threads I am reading right now, I know it is true because I was part of the group on another thread talking about paying taxes a while back when that guy made the statement. The rest of us were horrified. One person pointed out that the IRS could wack him with withholdings beside the fine for failure to pay estimated taxes. His attitude was basically "big deal, they haven't done anything to me yet but hit me with the fine, I doubt if they will in the future."

So, even if people start to think this is a piece of folklore, it is not. It is a true story. I just wish I could remember on which thread this discussion took place. I'd spend some time this weekend going back to find the entire discussion.

Regards,

Lynn
