Just when I thought I'd get a Qtr pounder delivered to my door...McDonald's let me down.
>McDonald's takes Food.com stake
Making its first foray into e-commerce, McDonald's Corp. said yesterday it was investing in the Food.com online food takeout-and-delivery service as it explores how to integrate the Internet into its global business. The burger giant did not disclose terms of the deal, but a company spokesman characterized the investment as "modest" and "barely" into the multimillions. McDonald's entry into the Internet does not mean that Food.com customers will soon be able to get Big Macs and fries delivered to their doorsteps. Rather, the company is exploring ways to build an online presence and create e-commerce opportunities for its other brands: Donatos Pizza, Chipotle Mexican Grill and Boston Market.
