Actually, it would seem to be complementary--ARCC provides in-building networks that tie into fast external data "pipes". The wireless optical capability of TeraBeam could provide faster and cheaper high bandwidth service to buildings that are not served directly by fiber.

ARCC popularity seems to be catching on!

no. TeraBeam fades after a few kilometers and can not provide the came levels of capacity & reliability. ARCC is safe even if another carrier decided to upgrade to the TeraBeam technology. Once you get outside the calm world of sheathing, things can get nutty real fast.
