1st OSX, 2nd E&P's - Now the Majors & Integrateds - EPS upgrade ! ...this is exactly what I have been buying leveraging the last two weeks - OXY in this group again (VBG) - but, look at KMG's upgrade - MONSTEROUS ! peak cycle PE of 30 x $5.65 = $150+ and now Deutsche's price target of $100 looks cheap... stock split candidate imho... KMG by the way if people recall has a couple of working projects with OEI - in deepwater... We saw the driller & early cycle service co pop first, now the E&P's like OEI UPR EOG NBL et al have moved 30-50% ; the majors & Integrateds are now getting upgraded and their time in the sun is next... load this sector & leverage it - it's where the major flow of cash will go post OPEC meeting... Friday March 10, 1:19 pm Eastern Time RESEARCH REPORT - ABN Amro raises oil forecast NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters) - ABN-Amro analyst Gene Nowak on Friday said he had raised his forecast for the average price of oil benchmark West Texas Intermediate this year to $24.35 a barrel from $20.35, and said oil industry earnings should rise by 60 percent in 2000. -- Nowak also raised his 2001 price forecast to $21.35 a barrel from $18.35. -- He said his new forecast ``reflects diminished worldwide crude oil inventories, continuing good worldwide demand, and our belief that OPEC will achieve a 'soft landing' for crude oil prices.' -- As a result of stronger oil prices, earnings from the exploration and production side of the energy business should continue to be robust, and there should be a recovery in the refining and marketing side, he said. -- Major oil equities remain undervalued, he said. ``We believe that the projected level of earnings will generate significant excess cash flow, which may be utilized for increased capital spending, new investment opportunities, debt reduction and share repurchases if oil equities continue to lag the market.' -- He raised his 2000 earnings per share estimate on Amerada Hess (NYSE:AHC - news) from $4.85 to $5.75; Atlantic Richfield Co.
