Biotechnology Stocks Forum March 11 Roche Offering of Genentech Shares Triggers 'Quiet
Period'

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Mar 10, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- PE Biosystems
(NYSE: PEB) will replace Genentech (NYSE: DNA) as a presenting company at the
Eighth Informed Investors Biotechnology Stocks Forum Saturday, March 11 at the

Genentech had been scheduled to appear, but yesterday Roche Holding of

PE BioSystems is headquartered in Foster City, CA, not far from Genentech's home
office in South San Francisco. PE Biosystems Group consists of four business
units and a shared service organization: PE Biosystems Group are Applied
Biosystems, PerSeptive Biosystems, PE Informatics, and Tropix. PE BioSystem's
sister company under the PE Corp. umbrella is Celera Genomics.

Biomira, Depomed, ICN Pharmaceuticals, Magainin Pharmaceuticals, Photogen
Technologies, SangStat and Targeted Genetics.

Attendance is $25 prepaid, $40 at the door. To register, go to
