steven: Although I am aware that it is not quite consistent with the additional guidelines for subject matter here, I for one find your race analogy combined with your detailed commentary perceptive and helpful to understand where the "bets" might best be placed.

My previous post to the_rich_janitor is hopefully a way to add to both his and your ideas.

We are all trying to figure out what the future holds re Nokia.

And to me, it matters little what Nokia does.

KYO (and others - particularly Asian companies) will pick up whatever slack Nokia is foolish enough to give them.

But others here seem to think that Nokia is a necessary win - at least from a psychological standpoint - and that seems to be the "street" view. So the sooner Nokia faces reality, the better. But Nokia really has only a timing choice.

As the old oil filter add went, you can pay me now, or you can pay me later.
