Didn't Hillary start exploring ethics and spirituality sometime in the first term? Isn't that what that channeling Eleanor Roosevelt BS was all about?

Ethics in a mature man or woman should be ingrained, instinctual, autonomous. To modify or adjust one's ethics to a particular situation on the advice of a hired gun is the lowest form of moral dependency.

I guess it depends on the role of the ethics "advisor". I agree with your point, it the purpose is to tell the man or woman what they must believe. However I see no problem with consulting a psychologist, pastor, teacher, (you fill in the blank) with ethical questions that need refining. I've discussed ethical questions or dilemma's with my husband and friends frequently and I don't consider that a form of moral dependency.
