Mike,

Now I see what you mean about this being a lousy week. CMGI being down doesn't even register when your life gets turned upside down by your family issues and getting "replaced" at work. I was "replaced" once. It left a lasting impression on me. I vowed never to put myself in a vulnerable position again and to never get too comfortable at any company. Since getting back on my feet (about 7 years ago), it's been all up hill. Judging by the intelligent nature of your posts over the past year or so, I'm sure you'll make lemonade out of this lemon too.

As for the family, that's a true bummer. I do hope you have access to your kids. They can make all the difference. I know everyday when I get home that no matter how tough it was, my kids put a huge smile on my face for me.

It's always darkest before the dawn so hang in there and keep swinging.

Paul

Mike-
I recommend a move to the mountains or the beach, a cable modem and an account with cyber-brokerage.com.
Earn a few bucks on your own schedule and relax for a few months.
It is very possible that the doors closing will provide access to newer, better doors.

Mike: Look at it this way bud... you're a free man!! ;-) Really, work is overrated... I'm not sure how much you have saved up, but I'm sure you have plenty coming from a VP position. ENJOY LIFE! You no longer need to work 50 hour weeks! Turn that computer on, visit us at SI and RB's CMGIOT board, and trade... or just watch your investments grow! When the market closes... exercise a little, play some tennis, basketball, golf, whatever. Or start your OWN business. Screw those back stabing ba$tards... show them how to really make money via your own business. Hell, they were making money off of you anyways... why let them make ANYTHING off of you?? Think about it! You are FREE!!! :-)
It's BEAUTIFUL!! CONGRATS!! ;-) Let me know when you're in the So Cal area bud... now that you're a free man and all! LOL.
Seriously... take care... I know it's rough... especially w/ the family.
We're here for ya bud...
- Zen
