Fire sale on biotechs: good buying op.

Many of the high-fliers have spent most of this week selling off sharply, an appropriate retracement given their astronomical YTD rise. I sense that the selling is leveling off and several are at levels that provide good entry. My suggestions: ABSC, GLGC, CEGE, DNA (in part, due to sale of 17.3 million shares by Roche), IVGN, IDPH, ALKS and CORR. If you have no exposure to this sector, this is a good time to nibble.

Dlph...I have a thought on GSTRF which I've seen no one else mention anywhere at any time, and I was studying this a lot while I owned and traded LOR, which owns a big share of GSTRF. My thought is....this technology (satellite phone service) is extremely important to the Defense Department, CIA, National Security Agency, and probably many other institutions and industries. Government defense and intelligence personnel stationed in remote locations around the world don't rely on local phone lines for communication, obviously. For national security reasons, we wouldn't be likely to find out just how much the company or product is used or supported by the government, if at all. Just a thought residing in the back of my mind for a long time.

another thought on Gilder - Gilder subscribers are some of the happiest people on the planet - no folks, there is no magic bullet i.e., George says buy now and you will make a bazillon - the most successful use of his work is to use it to complete your dd and then to see it in light of market direction and trade the technicals. these new industries are changing so rapidly that it behooves us to continue to research and challenge our belief in even the best of the new industry stocks..some people just want to be told what to buy so Gilder's report isn't for them - and his work is dense and difficult reading but for me, its provided insights I never would have had otherwise. its not useful to bash his work based on any one "pick" that later fell apart (gstrf, cien, gblx) - these are long term concepts that you may or may not develop a personal belief in based on your thorough and complete dd...
jmo.
