RE: Siebel

In the CRM space what does the thread think on which one is the real gorilla? SEBL appears to me, to be a gorilla in the CRM arena.

That would be correct.

PS: I did read some of the most recent SEBL posts - they tend to discuss "stock price" as opposed to "gorilla characteristics". More likely, I missed out on some posts from a while back, that discussed such characteristics, as I'm a recent member of SI.

The most recent discussion that centered around Siebel being a gorilla in the CRM space was Mike Buckley's "hump" post. In other words, the final element that brought his thoughts 'over the hump' was the IBM/Siebel 'union'. However, if you search back all through last year as Mike's excellent Front Office Game reports, you will see plenty of discussion along the way about Siebel. There were others that 'humped' earlier in regards to Siebel's Gorilla status including, but not limited to, Silicon Valley, the market, authors of the revised manual and even Uncle Frank. In spite of that, I can honestly say that my observations of Mike conclude that he enjoyed the 'hump' the most.

kumar,

You'll find a consensus here that Siebel is indeed the Gorilla of the CRM space. You also might be interested in looking for a post of mine on the last day of February or one of the first days of March whose first line begins with "This Month in the Front Office." That post is the most recent of my monthly reports of my not-real-money Front Office Gorilla Game that will soon celebrate its second anniversary.

And assuming you have read "the manual," welcome to our thread!
