Doug, well said. The hype we see is indicative of an over heated sector. For those who've traded for years, we've seen it before. The Gov't and financial institutions know this too, hence the recent push by the Gov't to measure the economic results bestowed upon us by the companies of the new economy, and by financial institutions and brokers to lessen their exposure to the inherent risks (e.g. higher margin requirements and "personal advice" to those they feel are over exposed to the techs).

IMO, we have a real problem developing. With the exception in developments by a few real players in the telco biz, and the advent of palm computing devices, people are still buying the same "old economy" products they have for years. The net may (and I stress may), enable the consumption of these "old economy" goods to occur more efficiently, but who's going to profit most by this? For the most part, the Companies producing these "old economy" products.

Time to transfer some of this wealth to the next sector. I think the odds of the energy sector going for a big rally look pretty good... for the survivors.
