Errr.... Tandem has an order of magnitude better MTBF numbers than IBM's best, and has had about a 10X advantage in reliability consistently since 1982 or so... I will agree that IBM is the only other vendor who can even compete in that class of product, but there is a reason that Tandem has 80% and 90% share in the tippy-top RAS dependent applications.... Tandem routinely does 99.9999 where IBM struggles to get 99.999 and only in special configurations.

By comparison, SUNW UE10000 has lass than 99.9 across the board, and only achieves 99.99 in a few very tightly controlled environments.
