Dear rudedog: I think you mistook my post. I meant that SDRAM is the existing tech. with RDRAM coming on with INTC support and any OTHER technology would have a hard time horning in. Let me know what your son says. JDN

What latency penalty?

Remember that in PSII and Timna type devices there is no chipset between the CPU and the RDRAM controller. This gives Rambus a latency ADVANTAGE.
