I think not. By shedding the expensive infrastructure, the ROI and ROE of QCOM will go ballistically skyward along with its share price. The involved capital can be relegated to R&D for their more core competencies: IP development. Shedding the handset division was a step in this direction, and to acquire a commoditized factory would be a reversal of this trend. This is just my opinion. Martin Thomas
