twister - give me a break. re: ? I don't suppose you are aware that this box is the fastest selling high-end UNIX box in history, by FAR?

700 servers a quarter is below the noise level in an industry that ships 10,000 servers a DAY... I guess if you define "high end unix box" tightly enough, you might be able to make your case. I guess if anyone one throws the first quarter sales of HP's 700 line at you, or a couple of the early Sparc launches, you would just say "those are not high end Unix boxes" even though they were the most powerful Unix systems available at the time they were launched.

My point is that the initial launch hype included the notion that they would quickly ramp to 2,500 units a quarter, and they are at about 25% of that so far.

But I am prepared to concede that with proper definition, you might be able to claim that "this box is the fastest selling high-end UNIX box in history, by FAR"... as long as you are prepared to concede that a product which sells a fraction of a percent of the overall market is not in itself likely to change the landscape. 700 goes into a million without making many ripples.
