Inaugural Texas eComm Ten Awards Honor Internet Pioneers and eCommerce Leaders

Keynote Speakers Michael Dell and 'Flip' Filipowski, Along With CBS Evening News' Anchor Dan Rather, Recognize Texas' Internet Pioneers

AUSTIN, Texas, March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Texas Electronic Commerce Association (Texas eComm), hosts its inaugural Texas eComm Ten Awards on Friday, March 10, 2000, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas. The awards are designed to recognize the "people behind eCommerce," those people who have demonstrated the kind of foresight and fortitude necessary to spearhead our continuing march beyond the Information Age and into the heart of the Internet Economy.

As Governor George W. Bush noted, "Texas is at the forefront of the Internet revolution, a revolution that is powered by the people and pioneers that make the great State of Texas an entrepreneurial haven where the potential of the New Economy is unleashed."

With the support of our platinum sponsors Dell Computer, divine interVentures(TM), Ernst & Young LLP, and SicolaMartin, the Texas eComm Ten Award winners have been held to a very high standard. Our judges were not
only picking this year's award winners, but were setting the standard for the Texas eComm Ten Awards for years to come. With over 60 nominees from around the state, the standard was set at a level that only 9 awards would be presented.

Special Judges Awards

Our judges recognized these three award winners as exemplifying the spirit of the Texas eComm Ten Award. Each of these companies is not only having a dramatic impact on the Internet Economy, but more importantly, these people
were behind that success:
