That is quite a bullish case of the NDX.

The way to interpret EPC is:

1) Below 0.35. Market is overbought.
2) Above 0.55. Market is oversold

It is calculated based on all equity options, so yes it is broadly based. It is better to use this with the 10 day MA of the EPC to avoid getting whipsawed. The 10 MA is on the Schaeffers site. Also ignore extreme results as we get closer to options expiration each month.

Trading on CIEN looks neutral to me. There was only 55,000 in large block buys on Friday with no sales. Remember they only met estimates last Q. On the other hand they are just completing a product transition. Their core director product should add real value to their hardware sales. An ONI IPO will also add some interest to the sector. I wish I could figure what is wrong with SCMR though.
