Mehrdad, I really appreciate all your thoughtful and informative posts. One concept that I have never seen calculated is the potential dollar value of the Palm OS as far as licensing to other companies. Do you or anyone have any idea how this might play out? What might they typically charge and will they get money for each unit that a company sells? I think this is an important issue since there will likely be much erosion of Palm hardware sales as Handspring ramps up unless Palm matches their prices, in which case margins will shrink substantially. It is my understanding that Palm intends to shift to more of a software emphasis for just this reason.
