<<In particular, online grocers - Webvan, PeaPod and Streamline - have seen their stock dragged down by investors' concerns surrounding strategies that call for building expensive distribution centers despite the thin margins of traditional grocers. >>

If gasoline hits anywhere near $2.00 / gallon by June as some analysts are saying is possible, their "strategies" will be the least of their problems. I suspect co's like these as well as AMZN are getting wacked badly financially as we speak due to the soaring fuel costs. UPS claims they have so far been able to pass on the increased fuel costs to their customers.

Can you believe Kleiners invesment banker... Morgan Stanley sucked their investors out of $260mil?

Why, how could they market a company without real potential and suck money from investors? That...that would be wrong! Wrong I say! :)

Don't worry. Home Grocer will get a tab on Amazon's web site for which it will pay $100 million dollars, doing nothing for Home Grocer, but boosting Amazon's bottom line and, uh, 'revenue' stream. In a Keiratsu, the small fish may be sacrificed to feed the big ones.
