Barb, All that changes (my opinion of course) is speed and magnitude. The consequence of which is that you and I and thousands of others can now make more faster or lose more faster than could ever have been done before. Hardly inconsequential. The issue in not about the fundamental forces of the market. It's about the opportunity for many more people to capitalize on the deviations from the steady progression of the market over time, or hurt themselves in trying, and the undeniable effect that wider participation has on the very market movements they are attempting to exploit.
