Aren't they only showing the excavation of the block from the permafrost?

The sequel may have to be played in fast forward! Science is for the extremely patient.

"Mol estimates that it could take more than a year to defrost the creature as they melt the block 1 millimeter at a time. Not only do the scientists need to be careful not to destroy any valuable evidence - Mol says they're as interested in the sediment and plant remains in the permafrost as the animal itself - but they also will be able to work only for short periods of time because the temperature in the cave is well below zero.
When they're ready to start the thawing process the scientists will rely on a fairly simple device - a hair dryer. Mol says a frame will be built into the cave's ceiling and from it will hang more than a dozen hair dryers. Without question it's the best tool for the job."

Like an elephant he swells;
Wholly now he fills the room,
He into mist will melt away."
