I believe I am going to apply for a Patent. My web site has a location where people may guess (possibly research prior) the answers to six questions and if they answer all six questions correctly, they receive a $20 gift certificate. I have received offers via email from other e-commerce site where I can receive 25% off on a purchase of $40 or more, or free shipping or a certificate to use to discount my purchase. Not once have I received an email that suggests a contest like the one on my site.

I know in the non virtual retailing world there have been lots of giveaways by having possible customers come into the store and enter a contest with no obligation to buy. The idea was that possible the erntering participant might buy something while they were ther. On the net, it is different. I mean the participant has to come to my web site and there is a chance they may buy something while they guess their answers. They can guess again every twenty four hours.

I believe this is new and inovative. No other e-commerce site should be permitted to use this idea and technolgy that I spent hundreds of man hours developing. Bezos is the man. He knows when he has a novel idea. The use of cookies now that is novel. I keep my customers from playing more than once every twenty fours hours with the use of cookies. I wonder which patent I am violating? I bet Amazon has one LOL.

What a bunch of crap Bezos and that firm is and this open letter to make it look like they are concerned is about as much BS as I can take. Bezos is importent enough to change the Patent system. Yeah right! In my opinion, he is a fruitcake that should Patent the amount of money a firm can lose in just a few years.
